Sawnee-Cumming Optimist Club

PWB Joy of Hope Foundation is proud to be an active participant in the Flags for Education program. It not only helps many deserving school aged students in our county, but also spreads a life long love of patriotism. Please join us as we introduce another fantastic community organization that will benefit from donations given.

The Sawnee-Cumming Optimist Club’s Optimist Flags for Education program is a fundraiser that provides three-by-five-foot flags in people’s front yards during six national holidays, with the proceeds benefitting the Morrow Community Foundation.

The foundation supports the Forsyth County Schools Bring Your Own Technology, or BYOT, initiative, which provides internet access and hotspot devices to students in need.

Through BYOT in the past couple years, internet has been provided to several hundred homes. FCSuses modern technology in the classroom and expects students to use that technology outside the classroom, however some students don’t have internet technology, so they joined with the Morrow Foundation to help provide internet access and devices to students who need them all while remaining true to their initiative ofbringing out the best in kids.

Jim and Peggie Morrow, who own Morrow Family Medicine in Cumming, formed the foundation in 2013 when they learned that more than 2,000 families in Forsyth County did not have internet in their homes.
Since starting the Morrow Community Foundation and raising funds to provide the internet for these deserving students, they have been blessed by sponsors, volunteers and participants who are helping make technology a reality for those who did not have it.

A subscription to the Optimist Flags for Education program is $40 per flag per year.
